The "Commerce" team was in charge of the Voltz Motors online store, which offers a product configuration website where customers can customize their own personalized electric motorcycle.
The overall amount of online purchases that were completed fell short of the sales team's expectations, and prior user feedback indicated that the shopping page's poor user experience contributed to this.
As a Product Designer at Voltz Motors, I had the honor of working with a terrific team of experts on the Commerce team who were all committed to giving our consumers the finest e-commerce experience possible. We collaborated well to achieve our objectives using the Product Trio leadership model, which includes a Product Manager, Product Designer, and Tech Lead.
Enhancing the product customizing experience, which fell short of our high expectations, especially on mobile devices, was one of our primary objectives. As a team, we were aware that we needed to come up with a solution that met the demands and expectations of our clients. We made the decision to conduct a thorough exploration and ideation process to pinpoint the issue's major pain areas and create workable solutions.
Together, we discussed our research, came up with a new color selector that was mobile-friendly, improved the UX authoring, and produced customization elements that demonstrated performance and cost variations. We conducted several rounds of user testing since we understood how important it was to make sure our new product modification process was user-friendly and catered to the needs of our clients.
To ensure the viability of the suggested design solutions, we had to address a number of development restrictions throughout the project. In this regard, our tech lead was extremely important, working directly with us to make sure that our concepts were both workable and scalable.
The initiative had a major influence on the company's e-commerce experience, which enhanced customer engagement and happiness. It was a true team effort that contributed to the project's success, and we were overjoyed to learn that the involved stakeholders had acknowledged our efforts and contributions.
Ultimately, we all learned a lot from working on this project. It gave us insightful advice on the value of user research and testing, designing for mobile platforms, and working with cross-functional teams. I am honored to have been a member of such a fantastic team on such a remarkable adventure.
